Everything on the Today tab
About this tool
Was your app featured on the App Store?
Apple does not notify most developers when it features their app, and App Store Connect does not list it. The only way to know is to have been looking at the Today tab on the right day, in the right country.
Appstro reads the Today tab in 14 countries every day and records every app on it — App of the Day and Game of the Day, stories about a single app, in-app event cards Apple chose to put there, and collections — so you can look any app up afterwards.
On the first read, 23 September 2026, the 14 Today tabs between them carried 603 different apps.
How it works
- 1Once a day, each country’s Today tab on Apple’s web App Store is read and every card on it is recorded: its story, heading, title, kind and the apps it features, in order.
- 2App and Game of the Day are recognised by the flag Apple itself sets on those cards, not by their wording, so they are found in every language.
- 3Each story keeps the first and last day it was seen. Look up an app and you get every sighting, by country, with a link to Apple’s own story.
- 4A country whose page could not be read that day is not recorded as a read at all, so a page Appstro couldn’t read can never turn into “not featured”.
What it cannot tell you
- Tracking started on 23 September 2026. Nothing earlier exists here.
- It is the Today tab only, as the web App Store shows it to a signed-out visitor. It is not the Apps or Games tabs, search, or the personalised Today a signed-in iPhone may show.
- It covers 14 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea, India, Brazil, Mexico and China. Featuring anywhere else is not seen.
- It reads once a day. A story that went up and came down between two reads is missed, and a first-seen date can be up to a day after it actually went live.
- Being featured is Apple’s editorial decision. Nothing here predicts it or measures what it did for downloads.
Questions
How do I know if my app was featured on the App Store?
Apple only sends a notification for some Today tab placements, through the App Store Connect app. Search for your app here: if it appeared on the Today tab in any of the 14 countries read daily since 23 September 2026, every sighting is listed with its dates and Apple’s story.
What is today’s App of the Day?
This page lists the App of the Day and Game of the Day for each of the 14 countries it reads, from that morning’s read. They often differ by country — on 23 September 2026 the US, Canada, Australia and Japan each had their own, while the UK and four European storefronts shared one.
How do I get my app featured?
Tell Apple what you are shipping through a Featuring Nomination in App Store Connect, ideally three weeks ahead. The featuring pitch worksheet on this site walks through Apple’s form. Apple states there is no checklist for getting featured.
Does being in a collection count as being featured?
It is shown, but separately. Being #14 of 20 in a list is a very different placement from a story about your app alone, so every sighting says which it was and where you sat.
